Shea Palavan

President & Founder

Shea is a patent litigator who has a successful trial and appellate record. Shea represents and defends companies and owners of intellectual property, including in matters involving patent infringement claims and other related business and intellectual property claims, including trade secret misappropriation, trademark claims, and copyright claims.

Shea graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering in only three and a half years, in a field that most take five or more to complete. Thereafter, he graduated from South Texas College of Law a semester early, even with work and school commitments.

During his tenure at law school, Shea worked closely with a small civil litigation firm practicing state law, acquiring over three years of litigation experience. In this initial role, he was involved with over 15 trials, numerous depositions, and all aspects of both trial and pretrial litigation. After graduating from law school, Shea decided he wanted to focus more on Intellectual Property Law, and his next step was to enroll in the LLM program at the University of Houston Law Center for Intellectual Property and Information Law, which he completed in a year. While in the LLM program, Shea focused on digital technology and internet law, patent law, patent prosecution, and patent litigation, copyright law, trademarks, and general civil pretrial and trial litigation.

Following completion of the LLM program, Shea worked at a boutique patent litigation firm as the top associate for seven years. Following this, Shea spent over a year and a half at a general civil trial litigation firm in Texas state and federal courts, acting as the brief writer for the entire firm and focusing on more nuanced casework. After establishing a successful track record in both state and federal courts, at both trial and appellate levels, Shea knew it was time to open his own firm and litigate as his most authentic self.
